1-2-Switch

MSRP $49.99
Release March 3, 2017
1-2-Switch is a game in the same category as Wii Sports. It’s used to show off the shiny new features in a nice family-oriented game. It’s primarily played face-to-face instead of looking at the screen so you can “look into the eyes of the opponent”. It’s also a great party game to be used as an icebreaker.
The game includes a series of mini-games such as a wild west shooter, a dance-off, and table tennis.
ARMS

MSRP $59.99
Release Spring 2017
A brand new series featuring “Nintendo’s newest characters.” A clever combination of a fighting and shooting game, you choose arms with various power and speeds and go head-to-head against your opponent. Your arms stretch and curve based on your motions with the Joy-Con; for example, you can curve your punch by tilting the controller.
Can be played split-screen, local multiplayer, or online.
Splatoon 2

MSRP $59.99
Release Summer 2017
Compete with brand new weapons and moves while playing with new gameplay mechanics. For the first time, you can play multiplayer locally. You can use the Joy-Con or Pro Controller, but either way Splatoon 2 uses the gyro controls for better aiming control.
Two years have passed since the release of Splatoon 2 and two years have passed in-game too, meaning characters are returning under differing circumstances and with different fashion.
Super Mario Odyssey

MSRP $59.99
Release Holiday 2017
The first Mario sandbox game since Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Sunshine, Mario sails between expansive worlds on his airship. Mario even has a unique new ability to throw his hat and jump on it to reach areas otherwise unreachable, and has a strange new hat with eyes.
In the presentation, you can see that one of the new worlds looks a lot like New York City (signs say “New Donk City”), which is a bit disconcerting seeing Mario next to real people. In this New Donk City, there are billboards showing “Crazy Cap”, which may indicate where he gets his new crazy hat with the googly eyes. You can also see the classic damsel in distress with Bowser and Peach getting married. Lastly, there’s a light reference to Super Mario 2 when you see Mario throwing a turnip at enemies.
Xenoblade Chronicles 2

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 has no release date for the west, but currently set for sometime in 2017 for Japanese audiences. If you can’t wait for it to be released stateside, just remember the Nintendo Switch isn’t region locked so you can learn Japanese and play it at home!
Fire Emblem Warriors

A simple trailer with no gameplay was shown. No additional information has been released either, however the Nintendo of America website has this game listed so it’s very likely to be coming to the west.
Dragon Quest X & XI, Dragon Quest Heroes 1 & 2
These titles are to be released in Japan, however not known if they will be released to the west and they are currently not on Nintendo of America’s website.
Shin Megami Tensei
Developed by ATLUS, Shin Megami Tensei has just begun development and does not have much information at this time.
Project Octopath Traveler
A new Square Enix RPG involving 2D sprites in a 3D environment. No release date has been set.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Release Fall 2017
It was teased during the initial reveal of the Switch in screenshots, but it’s now officially confirmed that Skyrim will be available on the Switch in Fall of 2017. There’s no information on the price, but it’ll probably be $59.99. Finally! Skyrim on the go!
No More Heroes Sequel – No Title Decided
After the cringe-worthy introduction, Goichi Suda revealed Travis Touchdown will be appearing on the Nintendo Switch. No gameplay was released and no title available.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

MSRP $59.99
Release 3/3/2017
Nintendo saved the best for last, revealing a brand new Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild release trailer.
Purchasing this iteration of Zelda comes with a few options. You can buy the base game at $59.99 MSRP, you can get the Special Edition for $99.99, or throw it all in and get the Master Edition for $129.99.
I already gave some opinions on the game in a previous post, but I still feel it’s out of place when there’s voice acting in a Legend of Zelda game. I’m not saying it’s a horrible decision, but I’ll just somehow have to adapt to this wild new concept.
But oh man, this game is so pretty. We see some more environmental aspects, like a wolf in the mountains and birds flying about.
But this game seems much darker than its predecessors. I feel it’ll have a very tragic ending.
