Noobenheim News for Nerds Finally, we get definitive news on Attack on Titan. The second season of Attack on Titan was announced in 2014 to be released in 2016. We’ve patiently waited and waited for its release, waded through swamps of numerous rumors, only to find it inevitably delayed. Finally, it announced on its very own website the release date of Spring 2017!

I don’t read Japanese, but that doesn’t mean I’m not excited.
This comes as fantastic news to us anime lovers who have waited so long since the first season concluded late 2013. Sure we got the decent two-part theatrical release in 2014 and 2015 (that jukebox), and we were delayed by universally hating the spinoff Attack on Titan: Junior High last year (I got through the first five minutes before I had to shut it off), but we really need to find out what awaits Eren in that basement and what makes him so special (the jukebox?). To be completely transparent, I haven’t read the manga. It might be very common knowledge of how Eren transforms the way he does. But don’t spoil it for me!

So far, no word on how long this season will be. Let’s hope it matches the first season which ran 25 episodes. Hopefully they’ll release the third season by the end of this decade!
