UPDATE (5/14/2016): Rumor has it some stores, such as Walmart, have already begun dropping the price on their current 2DS to $79.99 early, however these early ones will NOT come with the free digital download of Mario Kart 7. It’s definitely recommended to wait a week if you intend on buying one. Also, the colors that will be for sale at this price are the Crimson Red, Electric Blue, and Sea Green.
Starting in one week, May 20th, you will be able to get the 2DS for $20 cheaper than it is now. That’s right, a system fully capable of playing all those awesome 3DS games out there could be yours! To sweeten this already sweet deal, Nintendo is throwing in a Mario Kart 7 digital download for free.
Let’s do some math:
| Original Cost: | $99.99 |
|---|---|
| Discount | -$20.00 |
| Mario Kart 7 | -$29.99 |
| System Cost | $50.00 |
It’s like getting the system for only $50! Let’s face it, you would have bought Mario Kart 7 anyway. Now you can have a system to enjoy the upcoming Pokémon Sun and Moon being released in November! Or you can enjoy all the many other awesome games, like The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds or Square Enix’s Bravely Default! So much yay!
The perfect introduction to gaming at a new low price. On 5/20 the #2DS drops to $79.99! https://t.co/nL7TrfiqLG pic.twitter.com/o9va97KNrm
