Studio Wildcard finalized its biome change map, which expands the snow biome less than originally thought and better details changes to the swamp biome. This will be the second MAJOR biome change, the first being the introduction of the snow and swamp biomes and the swapping of the two obelisks.
Look at the picture above and you can see in blue the snow biome will extend over to include Frozen Fang now, but doesn’t quite make it to the east coast anymore. Studio Wildcard did say there wouldn’t be too many changes to the existing snow biome, but a new rock placement here and there could kill any tames or destroy a structure if it’s in the way. The major change lies under the volcano where the Redwoods are going to be. If you have a base near Grand Peak, be ready to pack up and leave because it’ll most likely be a goner by the end of the month. The green area below the Redwoods show where the current swamp will change into a Redwood area.
Not sure if you’ll be affected? No worries; soon Studio Wildcard will be releasing 3D Markers to show on the environment where things are changing. So keep a lookout for that.
Now, onto exciting non-base-destruction news! A new dossier has been released! This is the… uhm… cat/lizard thing? I’m not sure exactly what it is, but I can assure you I’ll be taming a bunch of them. The dossier says this… thing… can burrow underground and hibernate for long periods of time without food, which hopefully translates to in-game so it doesn’t need to be fed very often. The exciting part about this is once buried, it will act as a ‘landmine’ of sorts, where an enemy can walk over it and it’ll unleash lizard-cat monster fury. Now, it is a newly released dossier so who knows when it’ll actually be available in-game. Studio Wildcard is not known for their order of dossiers, meaning this might be the next thing released or it could be put in the back of the pile of currently 32 unreleased revealed dinosaurs (some of which will be released during the biome update).
