There are now four Fantastic Four movies available for our enjoyment, but which one is worth your time? Let’s break all of the fantastic movies down and see which one is best for you.
Fantastic Four (2005) – Probably the most famous Fantastic Four film, it stars Jessica Alba, Captain America, and some other actors. The plot revolves around Reed Richards and his friends as they science their way into some zany shenanigans. They go to space, get superpowers, and fight Dr. Doom. Great film if you like origin stories. Stan Lee breaks the mold playing a mail man, obsessed with Reed Richards and his post.
Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer (2007) – Probably the most famous Fantastic Four sequel, it again stars Jessica Alba, Captain America, and some other actors. The plot revolves around Reed Richards and his friends as they again science their way into some zany shenanigans. They get married, meet Silver Surfer, and fight Dr. Doom. Galactus is a cloud. Riveting stuff and a great pick if you like shiny naked men and clouds. Stan Lee steals the show playing Stan Lee, an obscure comic creator no one has ever heard of.
Fantastic Four (2015) – Probably the most famous Fantastic Four remake, it doesn’t star Jessica Alba or Captain America, but does have some CGI. The plot revolves around Reed Richards and his friends as they science talk about science and nothing really exciting happens. They go to another dimension, talk about feelings, get super powers far too late in the run-time, and fight Dr. Doom. The Thing doesn’t wear any pants. Riveting stuff and a great pick if you like naked rock-men, convoluted plots, and a rehashing of an origin story no one asked for. Stan Lee wasn’t in this one, so it’s safe to skip this flick.
The Fantastic Four (1994) – Probably the most famous Fantastic Four movie no one knew about, it stars nobody. Not even real people. The plot does revolve around Reed Richards and his friends as they something something with no budget. They go to space, get superpowers, and fight Dr. Doom. Fun stuff and a great pick if you like movies that are so bad they are good. Stan Lee stayed home for this one, making a cartoon probably.
Fantastic Four (TV show) – Probably the most famous Fantastic Four cartoon, it has people’s voices instead of real people, which is a bold move. The plot does revolve around Reed Richards and his friends as they science their way into some zany shenanigans. They go to space, get superpowers, and fight Dr. Doom in every episode. Riveting stuff and a great pick if you like cartoons. Stan Lee stayed home for this one, making this cartoon.
