Noobenheim News for Nerds After news hit that the original voice actors will be returning for The Dark Side of Dimensions, Dan Green (voice of Yugi/Yami) and Eric Stuart (voice of Seto Kaiba) showed up at the 2016 Yu-Gi-Oh! World Championship in Orlando, Florida to put on quite a spectacle. Everything was excellently scripted as if it was a duel from the show with classic sound effects, music, and of course the original voices.
It certainly caught me off guard when Yami played the Magician’s Rod face-up in defense mode before I realized this duel will be played out using anime rules. There were plenty more examples of this, mostly presented with card effects (Kuribandit is so broken), but also present in restricted cards. It was a fun flashback to the original show with some references to the newer series as well. I’d have lost it if Yami played some Elemental Heroes during the duel.
