14 Years Later: Fans Find New Way to Kill Zelda Boss

The Legend Of Zelda: Wind Waker was released in 2002, 14 years ago, for the Nintendo GameCube. Three years ago, it was released in HD for the Wii U. This game has obviously been around for a while now. Yet, we’ve just learned something new hidden in its gameplay.

Via Kotaku, YouTube user Fish_waffle64 posted a video showing the Forbidden Woods boss Kalle Demos could be instantly killed using only the magical forest water from Link’s side quest (video above). The entertaining aspect of the discovery is that this doesn’t seem to be a glitch – this works in both the remastered HD and the original GameCube versions.

The current world record holder gymnast86 commented it probably won’t be used by speedrunners as the boss is quickly defeated otherwise.

Kalle Demos is already really fast with the sword. It’s cool and hilarious that this works but it will not be used in runs as far as I can see.gymnast86

In a world where all gaming code seems to be dissected quickly, all glitches quickly discovered, and companies releasing every secret in their strategy guides, it’s nice to know there’s still some mystery out in gaming.
